Carol Gibbons, merchandising manager for design and furniture store Samantha Drew, said she didn’t see flames, “just smoke in the building.” The fire burned away a portion of the roof above the store.
Se-Port Deli, which shares the building with Samantha Drew, was not affected by the fire, according to Makarius.
