Corruption in Old Field? Say it isn't so. This is almost as good as when I found out all theRead More speeding tickets they gave out in the 80's were totally illegal. As was the clown court they ran out of the lighthouse back then. I'm thinking a class action lawsuit against them from anyone who ever got a "speeding ticket" from the Old Field "PD" back in the day... You know, 35 in a 30 written by the cop that was also a roofer...

Sex offenders have the highest rates of being repeat offenders. The New York State Sex OffenderRead More Registration Act requires Level 2 sex offenders to register FOR LIFE. According to the NYSDCJS website he raped a 13 year old girl.

What about the rights of the people who live on Flagpole Lane!!! I'm tired of hearing about theRead More rights of convicted sex offenders. STOP THE MADNESS.

Christine, thanks for the reply. It would be interesting to ask if these certified teachers areRead More going to recieve the same benefits (medical, pensions, tenure) as regular TVCSD teachers because if thats the case then i would find it very hard to believe that this program would be truly self supporting. Lets face it, they aren't going to charge more than some of the private pre ki programs in the area, because then they wouldn't be competitive, and thats what they would have to do to be self supporting. So how can they make that claim.

Disgusted: we're working on a full story on the child care idea. To clarify: According to thisRead More survey, the pre-k program would be tuition-based and self-supporting. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3vpreksurvey

I'm so confused. How is it that just yesterday we had a bduget vote that cut teachers and electivesRead More and today I get a phone call in regard to the district wanting to start a pre-k program. Are they serious? First, where it the money coming from? Second, why should we all pay for pre-k intstruction? Thats the responsiblity of the parents. Not to mention that all that really is, is free child care. Thats ridiculous.

So, essentially that first residential home is being written off as the price of doing business.Read More There goes that property value. Other than as a professional residence, who would want to live by a driveway for that traffic? As for the entrance Village Automotive, that will bring even more traffic to an already busy intersection nearby. 25A is impassable/impossible in that area for large chunks of the day now.

The rezoning is for the acres of undeveloped residential land across from Ann Maries Farm stand,Read More extending down to the wooded area on 25A. A one way entrance would be placed by Village Automotive and a one way exit would come out on N. Country Rd. adjacent to the first residential house.

Can you tell us where this property is? An address or street name?

I the BOE and Union didn't allow the majority of the budget be spent on benefits and salaries maybeRead More there would be money left for supplies. With declining enrollment and cuts to programs for our kids they only ones making out are teachers and staff with too generous salaries and benefits. Vote no on Tuesday!

Seriously? We are asked to send in enough supplies per kid each year to supply 5 kids. Where does itRead More all go? It gets lost, thrown out, or ends up back in the students home via backpack. The problem is not the lack of supplies, but a lack of personal responsibility. But if we send in enough supplies each year for ten or fifteen students, then we might be able to avoid the underlying problem.

everyone should research what all the school administrators are raking in and the multple levels ofRead More staff that exists at TVCSD. It is beyond reasonable to have salaries at that level and multiple administrators and assistants and directors and assistant directors and chairman etc. Teachers earn their fair share!
