Lets face it, they aren't going to charge more than some of the private pre ki programs in the area, because then they wouldn't be competitive, and thats what they would have to do to be self supporting. So how can they make that claim.

Are they serious? First, where it the money coming from? Second, why should we all pay for pre-k intstruction? Thats the responsiblity of the parents. Not to mention that all that really is, is free child care. Thats ridiculous.

Just yesterday, I was under the impression we didnt have enough money to keep 58 teachers, and had to cut electives live Student Govt. But now theres money for a new pre-k program, which will be run by certified teachers? Unbelieveable! If parents want their kids to go to pre-k then they should pay for it, like everyone else has for years and years in this district. Its not the communities responsiblity to provide this service. Lets face it, everyone is going to jump on this bandwagon. its free child care. I'm sick of this nonsense. Can't wait to get the heck out of TV

(Shameful that more folks are unwilling to participate!!!)
As for those staff members that were 'excessed' at this time, I would love to see how you wont excess another 100 more next year...do you think benefits will be going down? We cut people and increase taxes so that who was left got a raise???Does this make sense??? You have over 200 people earning in excess of $100K and BENEFITS REPRESENT MORE THAN 50% OF THE INSTRUCTION BUDGET and BENEFITS went up by 12.9%..SO HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY EXPECT THIS TO CHANGE WITHOUT TAKING ACTION????? Unless you and the BOE deal with the union contract, you will have even LESS members at your 3VSD Christmas party and our kids will continue to face further program cuts because your leadership is failing to deal with this bloated organization.

If you, the B of E do not stop your current path, there will be no more taxpayers left to pay for…Read More the schools as we all get priced out. Just because you kept it "under the cap" doesn't make it right. Many of us taxpayers haven't seen a raise in years, yet you continue to raise taxes every year. Even 2, 3 or 4 % is a lot, compounded over the years. Do more with less like the rest of us have to do. And don't take it out on Teachers. They are your most important commodity. There are many ways to cut expenses. Did you really need to install LED signs in front of the schools? How many administrators do you really need? The secretary to the assistant of the assistant to the dean? Come on now. And I can only imagine the shady deals with vendors of custodial supplies, construction materials. The give backs and family members being "taken care of". The corruption is what is costing us so much money, not the Teachers... Between the School District and the University I can't even imagine why anyone continues to live in this town.
One last thing for my rant- You should consider tiered taxation. Why should the 80 year old retiree or someone without children pay the same share as someone who chooses to have 3, 4, 5 children in school. Charge more to those actually using the school. Everyone should pay a little, but it's not right to monetarily rape those that do not receive any benefit from you. My 2 cents, thanks for listening...

The entire city of new york is run by ONE superintendent. Trim the fat, as a previous poster so eloquently stated. We all know how fiscal budgets work. "Spend it so we don't lose it next year"...

As for the entrance Village Automotive, that will bring even more traffic to an already busy intersection nearby. 25A is impassable/impossible in that area for large chunks of the day now.

With declining enrollment and cuts to programs for our kids they only ones making out are teachers and staff with too generous salaries and benefits. Vote no on Tuesday!

Seriously? We are asked to send in enough supplies per kid each year to supply 5 kids. Where does it…Read More all go? It gets lost, thrown out, or ends up back in the students home via backpack. The problem is not the lack of supplies, but a lack of personal responsibility. But if we send in enough supplies each year for ten or fifteen students, then we might be able to avoid the underlying problem.

It is beyond reasonable to have salaries at that level and multiple administrators and assistants and directors and assistant directors and chairman etc. Teachers earn their fair share!
