Crime Report: Drunken Crash Victim Required Hospitalization

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County Police Department Sixth Precinct reported these arrests in Three Village during May 21-29.

Francisco Tomas, 26, of Riverhead was arrested May 28 in Stony Brook and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state at approximately 4:17 a.m., Tomas was traveling in a 1997 Volkswagen on Middle Country Road in Ridge and crashed head on with another vehicle. Reports indicate he was traveling eastbound in a westbound lane. Reports also state the driver of the other vehicle required hospitalization for serious injuries.   

Matthew Beymer, 23, of St. James was arrested May 27 in Stony Brook and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state Beymer allegedly failed to maintain his lane of travel while operating a 1999 Honda on Route 25A. Upon being pulled over, the officer noticed Beymer was intoxicated.

Jose Mendez, 42, of Flanders was arrested May 26 in Stony Brook and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state Mendez was allegedly operating a 1997 Ford at approximately 4:05 a.m., while intoxicated.
