A lifelong resident of Monmouth County, Shannon recently moved from Highlands back to her home town of Oceanport. Shannon is a former managing editor of The Hub newspaper. She began her work in writing as a editorial assistant at Working Woman magazine but left the city to pursue local news, starting out as a reporter for the Wall Herald.
Before joining Patch as a writer and guest editor in 2011, Shannon was a freelance writer with a focus on environmental issues and recreational boating, with bylines in Northeast Boating (formerly Offshore) and New Jersey Countryside magazines. Shannon lives with her extended family, including her husband and three children, in the home she grew up in on the Shrewsbury River.
