Gallery Opening, School Board Meeting Coming This Week in Three Village

Good morning, Three Village. Here's a look at some upcoming local events and important notes:

- The final Three Village Board of Education meeting of the summer is set for Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at North Country Administration Center. After this one, the Board of Ed will meet on Wednesdays starting Sept. 11.

- Also on Tuesday, a naturalist will present a lecture on the wide variety of birds living on Long Island. Registration is required for this 7 p.m. event; call 631-941-4080.

- On Friday, Gallery North will celebrate the opening of a new show, "Art of the Figure," curated by Philip Pearlstein. 

- Did you know that homeowners receiving STAR tax breaks will have to re-register for the program this year? A state audit of the basic STAR program found widespread abuse, so this new registration is designed to prevent further fraud. Click here for more details.
