Education Forum, Science on Tap and More this Week in Three Village

Good morning Three Village, today is Veteran's Day, a federal holiday honoring the nations' men and women who have served in the armed forces. There is no school today, mail delivery or garbage pick up.

Veteran's Day Camp for Kids
Looking to keep the kids busy today? There is a Sportz Nutz Camp at All Pro Fieldhouse where you can drop the kids off for a few hours of fun. The co-ed program offers  kids a variety of fun running games.Camp will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Veterans Day at $25 for the session.  Call or register online.  Elementary School Ages  631-403-4710 www.allprofieldhouse.com

Education Forum
Ward Melville High School will host state commissioner of education John King for a forum on education Tues. evening from 6-8 p.m. For more information on the forum click here. There will also be a student protest held in front of the school from 5:45-8:15 p.m. Organizers of the protest said participants can speak their mind on how they've been affected by recent policies. Teachers, parents, and administrators are expected to attend. 

Science on Tap goes "Back to the Stone Age with John Shea"
Watch John Shea, a skilled flintknapper and professor of anthropology at Stony Brook University, turn a lump of stone into a lethal weapon in minutes. It is part of the series "Science on Tap", happening Tues. at 6 p.m. at the Stony Brook Yacht Club. This event is free and open to the public but reservations are strongly suggested.  For reservations, email centerforcommunicatingscience@stonybrook.edu

Your kids Can Read to Alfie, the Therapy Dog
Did you know Alfie, the therapy dog, is available at the library for your kids to read to him? Every week, Tuesday or Wednesday. 4:45 - 5:10 p.m. or 5:15 - 5:40 p.m.Register by phone (631.941.4080) or in-person at the Children's Desk for a specific time slot. 

Men Who Cook & Women Who Bake
A culinary feast prepared by St. Charles Hospital physicians and board members who know their way around a kitchen. Open bar, wine auction, rafflepPrizes. Proceeds benefit epilepsy services at St. Charles Hospital.

Stony Brook University Department of Theatre Arts Presents "The Liar"
Batten down the hatches and get ready for the hilarious hijinks of David Ives' The Liar presented by the Department of Theatre Arts at Stony Brook University. Director Deborah Mayo a Yale Drama School graduate and Director of Undergraduate Studies in Theatre Arts at Stony Brook University has nothing but fun in mind. Tickets can be purchased through the Staller Center box office. 631-632-ARTS(2787) Admission $20 General Admission $10 with Student ID.

Performances are Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. for a two week run.
