Civic Association Meeting, Nook and Android Workshop This Week

A look at what's happening in Three Village this week.

It will be a mostly sunny start to the week with temperatures in the mid 50's and warming up to the mid 60's on Wednesday.

Monday-Civic Association of the Setaukets and Stony Brook Meeting

The November meeting will be dedicated to a closer look at our waterfront - the current condition of our local harbors and bays, and what we can do to preserve this important resource. 

A number of distinguished guests will help guide the discussion including:NYS Assemblyman Steve Englebright, Michael Kaufman - attorney, planner and member of the Stony Brook Harbor Task Force, Lawrence Swanson - Assistant Dean of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at Stony Brook University, and Malcolm Bowman - Distinguished Service Professor at Stony brook University's School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. Food Safety
We all think we prepare safe meals in our house but do we really? Food Safety Consultant, Margaret Dixon shares her knowledge and true stories of inspecting restaurants for the Health Dept. Learn what to do and what not to do to ensure the health of your family especially with those Thanksgiving leftovers. Come take this fun interactive class. Tues. 7 p.m. Emma Clark Library.

Memorial Concert to Benefit Cancer Research
Israeli pianist and Stony Brook University graduate student Guy Slapak  will hold a concert Tuesday at 7:30 pm at Temple Isaiah in Stony Brook. The program includes piano solo, vocal music (with Israeli songs) with soprano Lianne Aharony, and the Brahms Piano Quintet in F minor featuring violinist Hagai Shaham, Professsor of Music at Stony Brook.

Wednesday- Wednesday Night Workshop - Nook and Android
