Shane Dineen tallied 12 points and 12 rebounds and John Edwards scored 15 points for Ward Melville as the Patriots overran Sachem North, 63-46, in a League I boys' basketball game Tuesday.
After leading 22-17 at halftime Ward Melville (5-7) used a 24-10 third quarter run to put the game away, a rally that coach Jesse Smith called "a group effort."
"We went into the locker room thinking it was a little closer than we wanted, and we played a little better team game and trusted one another in the third quarter and that gave us a big surge," Smith said.
