Ward Melville Opens Football Practice

Former assistant coach Rob Neugebauer brings new offense as head coach.

Ward Melville's new head football coach has inherited a football program which finished the 2009 season at 2-6, but Rob Neugebauer is nonetheless excited for the upcoming season, which began Monday with 7am practices.

"I think the community is starting to rally around this program," said Neugebauer, a dean at R. C. Murphy Junior High. "We have a good, young crop of kids here who are excited about football."

The varsity schedule opens September 7 with a matchup against Commack High School at 4pm.
