Village People: Ward Melville Alum Wins Fitness Contest

Chris Wong gets nod as "Best Transformation" in a fitness photo contest.

In his own words, Chris Wong described his old self as a skinny dude who completely lacked muscle and never played sports. "Whenever I had my shirt off you could see my spine and shoulder blades sticking out," he said in an email to Patch. But after a friend introduced him to the concept of working out, Chris – a 2009 graduate of Ward Melville HS – looks and feels totally different.

Now, Chris has been named July's "Best Transformation" by ProSource.net. He started out at 115 pounds, and worked out for three years to get up to 148 pounds with much more muscle definition.

Chris said he works out at Powerhouse Gym in Setauket, which he says has a good environment and great equipment. He's set a record in dead-lifting record at SUNY Cortland for his weight class and expects to graduate in the spring with a degree as a fitness specialist. "I hope to be a personal trainer in the near future and within the next year compete in bodybuilding competitions and become a fitness model in fitness magazines," he said.
