SBU Coach Senk Gets Call from Joe Girardi

According to a Newsday report, the Yankees manager left a voicemail for the Seawolves' coach.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi left a "good luck" voicemail for Stony Brook baseball coach Matt Senk, according to a report published Tuesday in Newsday.

Girardi, who does not personally know Senk, told Newsday he thinks what Stony Brook has accomplished is tremendous.

"So I just wanted to wish him good luck and tell him he's obviously done a wonderful job, him and his coaching staff, and to congratulate the kids. Because this isn't something you get to do every day and you have to enjoy it," Newsday quoted Girardi as saying.
