It's no secret how far the Seawolves baseball team has come over the past few decades, but here's a little snapshot in case you need more evidence: a paragraph from the 1970 Stony Brook Specula yearbook. A full 20 years before current head coach Matt Senk took over, coach Frank Tirico led the Seawolves to a 4-4 record in Division III's Knickerbocker Conference – including a 29-8 win over Hunter College – and a 5-17 overall record. Included here are photos from that 1970 team.
