State Awards $16.8M Contract for Electrical Improvements at Stony Brook

Holtsville-based Eldor Contracting Corporation wins contract.

According to a report published Oct. 20 on ConstructionDigital.com, New York State has awarded a contract worth $16.8 million for electrical contracting work on the campus of Stony Brook University and Stony Brook University Hospital.

The report describes Eldor Contracting Corporation, the Holtsville company that received the contract, as a major tri-state area company specializing in electrical construction and renewable energy.

The contract, awarded through New York's State University Construction Fund, is for "the installation of new electrical duct bank and conduits for future transmission feeders throughout the eastern and western campuses," according to the report. Eldor vice president Alan Lang said the project will prepare the university for future growth, including new dormitories and an expansion at the hospital – both of which have been stated as part of the university's 10-year plan.
