Setauket Elementary Students Join Town Recycling Efforts

As part of the school’s continued recycling efforts, Setauket Elementary School kindergartners in Lori Bard’s and Kelly Freeman’s classes were selected to beautify a 55-gallon drum for the Town of Brookhaven Painting and Recycling Program.

With the help of their teachers and several parent volunteers, the classes created a “Setauket Cares” design on the receptacle to symbolize their commitment to keeping their neighborhood free of waste.

The painted piece will be placed in a town park within the surrounding area and will be used to promote the town’s single-stream recycling program.
