School Board Honors Outgoing Members

McIntosh departs after six years.

The Three Village Central School District presented several outgoing school board members with plaques in honor of their service Tuesday night as fellow members and a few parents thanked them for their contributions.

"You are a good man," said resident Faiza Akhtar to board vice president Frank McIntosh, who has sat on the board since 2005. Akhtar and McIntosh campaigned together unsuccessfully in this year's school board trustee election.

"I remember when you were 'the plumber.' Everyone was saying, 'There's a plumber on the board,'" Akhtar said. "But you've done such a great job, and campaigning with you was truly one of the most rewarding and fun experiences I've ever had."

Also recognized was Lauren Kocivar, student representative to the board. Interim Superintendent Neil Lederer presented her with a bouquet of flowers.

"It was a pleasure sitting with you, and I think you're just wonderful," he said.
