"It was pretty over the top," Post said. "They were very clever and very creative."

Post said he was worried the interview would be a waste of his time but was pleased with the outcome.

"They're capable of doing some pretty crazy stuff, but I think they decided to do something more uplifting," he said.

Student Arrested for Tagging

University police arrested a student on Dec. 1 for repeatedly placing a sticker on campus property with the name "Walter" tagged on it on, according to a statement issued Monday by the department.

Jesse Jay Ryker, 20, a commuter student, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of criminal mischief after he was observed placing the sticker, according to police.

"The graffiti tag 'Walter' was placed throughout the academic mall, campus buildings, bus shelters, light poles, garbage pails, and campus buses," the statement said. Police had been investigating the incidents since last spring.

Many of the tags were written on stickers, while others were drawn directly onto different surfaces. A blog dedicated to Ryker's handiwork, http://whoiswalter.blogspot.com/, was restricted to "invited readers" after the arrest but is now open to the public again.

One tag was found on a staircase at the . Julie Greene, the center's publicist, said she was not aware of the incident, but expressed concern over the arrest.

"That's terrible," she said. "Oh my, the creative impulse."

Fee Increase for Student Activities Passes

The University Student Government voted to increase the fee for student activities, a measure that will help finance the more than $100,000 increase in the Student Activities Board budget this year.

The SAB's current budget is $404,000, according to the USG's Web site. The increase comes in the wake of a shake-up of the activities board, which was deemed too narrow in its ideas for performers and other activities.
