Princeton Review Dubs SBU a 'Best Value College'

Stony Brook is among 75 U.S. public colleges to receive this designation.

Stony Brook University has been ranked among the top 75 "best value" public colleges and universities in the Princeton Review's newly released The Best Value Colleges: 2012 Edition.

The university was cited for its academic prestige, affordability, faculty, reputation, and research opportunities.

"We commend Stony Brook University and all of the extraordinary colleges on our 2012 'Best Value Colleges' list for all they are doing to keep costs down and offer generous aid to applicants with financial need – all while maintaining excellent academic programs," said Robert Franek, senior vice president and publisher of The Princeton Review.

The university was also as the No. 35 best value in public colleges and No. 29 best value for out-of-state students, and was ranked No. 114 on the Times Higher Education's 2011-2012 Top 400 World University rankings.
