Gelinas Teacher’s 'The Selfie Project' Lesson Published in Magazine

P.J. Gelinas Junior High School art teacher Michael Sacco recently had his fifth article published in the internationally read SchoolArts magazine.

 “The Selfie Project” is a ninth-grade media arts project, which explores the self-portrait and digital media. The article speaks to the role of the self-portrait throughout art history, and the challenges that arise with the self-image of the junior high school student. Accompanying the written piece was artwork completed by Gelinas’ ninth-graders Bella Ayer and Amy Huang.

Mr. Sacco was asked to spotlight this project by the magazine’s editor for its special National Art Education Association National Conference issue, which will feature new media lessons.
