Stony Brook Orthopaedic Associates Sports Medicine Symposium

The First Annual Stony Brook Sports Medicine Symposium will take place at the Wang Center.  This years theme is STOP (Sports Trauma and Overuse Prevention).

This full-day event will consist of an agenda of lectures, panel discussions, and breakout sessions. While the majority of the program is intended largely for health care professionals, the concussion portion of the symposium—which begins at 4:00 pm—is also up for coaches, athletic directors and others involved in children’s sports programs.

Presentations at the symposium include:

  • Upper Extremity Overuse Injuries
  • Lower Extremity Overuse Injuries
  • General Medical Considerations in Sports Medicine
  • Concussion: How to Diagnose, Track and Treat
