Caregivers' Practical Help Workshop

The Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center of LI will host its fourteenth annual Caregivers' Practical Help Workshop on Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Stony Brook University Health Sciences Center.  Program Director Darlene Jyringi said that the workshop will offer practical advice about how to care for a person with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia.  It is designed for family members caring for someone at home and for professionals who care for people with dementia in health care facilities.  Topics to be covered include: Overview of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias; communication and behavior challenges; legal and financial planning; and caring for the caregiver.  The workshop is free and open to the public.  There is a $5 parking fee.  A free lunch is provided.  You must register by October 28, 2011.  For more information call 631-444-1365.
