Shore Road Projects Aim to Improve Setauket Harbor Area

The Village Times Herald reports on the latest improvement projects on the road and at the beach.

A project to improve road conditions on Shore Road in the vicinity of Setauket Harbor has begun to work, according to a report published Thursday in The Village Times Herald.

In the original part of the project, the road was paved and raised 1.5 inches and drains were installed to control stormwater runoff. The Village Times Herald cites deputy highway superintendent Lori Baldassare as saying the runoff is controlled via a drainage system that filters sediment though a rock bed.

However, the rock bed has taken over much of the beach off Shore Road by the dock – which has drawn some complaints.
