Democratic Committee Screens Fiore-Rosenfeld for Re-Election

Newsday reports the councilman appeared before the screening committee a day after Suffolk prosecutors seized his town computers.

Steve Fiore-Rosenfeld, the Democratic councilman serving Brookhaven's first council district, has screened for the Brookhaven Democratic Committee to seek re-election, according to an article published Monday in Newsday.

The screening came a day after Suffolk County prosecutors seized Fiore-Rosenfeld's town computers in a probe centered on the use of town computers and equipment to conduct campaign activities, Newsday reported.

Tony Parlatore, chairman of the Brookhaven Dems, said Fiore-Rosenfeld told the screening committee that he'd done nothing wrong.

“Right now he’s our candidate. He’s been an extremely effective candidate and superb representing the people of the first district,” Parlatore told Newsday.
