Civic Association to Host 'Meet the Candidates' Night

Meeting set for Monday night.

Candidates for local and state public offices will come together on Monday night at a "Meet the Candidates" event hosted by the Civic Association of the Setaukets and Stony Brook.

The meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. at Emma S. Clark Memorial Library.

The candidates will answer a number of questions prepared by the civic association's executive board, and afterwards, residents will be able to meet and informally discuss the issues with the candidates over light refreshments.

Civic leaders have said they found that this format "promotes a more responsible, civil atmosphere that is reflective of the Three Village community."

Town supervisor candidates Ed Romaine (R) and Brian Beedenbender (D) have said they will be there, along with state Assemb. Steve Englebright (D) and challenger Deborah McKee (R).
