Stony Brook Student Stabbed on Campus

Incident took place early Saturday morning.

A resident student at Stony Brook University was sent to the University Hospital early Saturday morning after reportedly being stabbed in the stomach, according to university police.

The incident took place at approximately 2 a.m. Saturday. The victim told police his alleged attacker was a commuter student whom he knew, and said he fled off campus in a dark vehicle. Police were able to confirm that information, according to university police chief Robert Lenahan.

"Based on this information, there was no imminent threat to any other members of the campus community," Lenahan said in an email to the campus community.
