Stony Brook Student Dies in Off-Campus Home

A Stony Brook University student died Monday night, authorities said, in an off-campus home.

The office of Dean Jerrold Stein released a statement to students and faculty Tuesday night, informing the community that the student's death appears to be accidental, no criminality is suspected, and the incident is currently under investigation by the Suffolk County Police Department.

Monday night's death is the third in less than six weeks in connection with SBU. At the beginning of March, a former student died on campus, and a couple of weeks prior, a student died in New York City.
