Stony Brook Police Investigating Report of Robbery on Campus

Incident happened Sunday night.

A Stony Brook student reported being robbed at knifepoint on Sunday night at approximately 10:20 p.m. while walking along a bicycle path near the athletic fields and Circle Road, according to an SBU Emergency Management notification.

The victim said he was approached by a group of two or three students, and described one of the subject as a Caucasian male approximately 20 years old wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. That man reportedly displayed a knife and demanded the victim's phone and wallet; the victim, who was uninjured, could not provide a description of the other person or persons involved.

According to Emergency Management, the victim complied and the suspects fled on foot towards the Long Island Rail Road parking lot.

Stony Brook police said in a statement: "The investigation remains ongoing, however there is no danger to the campus community at this time. Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to call University Police at 631-632-3333."
