Police Seek Public's Help in Wallet Theft

Police are asking for the public's help to identify a woman they believe stole a wallet from a Centereach store.

Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a woman they believe stole a wallet from a Centereach store.

According to police, a woman purchased items at the Walmart located at 161 Centereach Mall and dropped her wallet, which contained cash and credit cards, near the checkout counter after paying.

Police said a woman was seen on surveillance video picking up the wallet and putting it in her purse and then leaving the store.

Police described the woman as a white female with blond hair who was wearing a black winter jacket and scarf. She was with a man who was wearing glasses and a dark jacket and pants.

Suffolk County police are offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Police are asking anyone with information about this crime to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
