Police Investigate 6 Burglaries in 11-Day Span

Thieves hit multiple homes in the Stony Brook and Setauket areas.

Residents reported six residential burglaries between Aug. 20 and Aug. 31 in the Three Village area, according to reports from the Suffolk County Police Department.

On Aug. 20, someone entered a home on Stony Brook Road in Stony Brook between noon and 3 p.m. and stole jewelry; a police spokesperson could not say how the home was entered. A resident of West Parsons Court in Setauket reported a home break-in in which two TVs were stolen sometime between Aug. 20 and Aug. 23.

A resident of Pembrook Drive in Stony Brook reported that a door was forced open and jewelry was stolen sometime between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Aug. 27. On the same day, a resident of Kemswick Drive in Stony Brook reported that someone entered through an unlocked door and stole jewelry and money sometime between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Also on Aug. 27, a resident of Davidia Lane in Stony Brook reported that a window screen had been cut and someone stole jewelry and a camera sometime between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

A resident of Highwood Road in Stony Brook reported Aug. 31 that someone broke into the home and stole an iPad and money sometime between 4:40 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
