Crime Report: Thefts of Laptops, Purse Reported at Best Buy, Walmart

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Sean Paddock, 26, of Port Jefferson, was arrested March 29 in Stony Brook and charged with DWI. Police said they observed him failing to stay in his lane while driving west on Route 25A in Stony Brook at approximately 3:25 a.m.

Alexis Fields, 37, of Flanders, was arrested March 25 in South Setauket and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. Police arrested her at the corner of Route 347 and Mark Tree Road at 5:08 p.m., saying she had in her possession two stolen laptops and a tablet allegedly taken from Best Buy.

The following incidents were reported to the Suffolk County Police Department between March 22 and March 29:

  • A female shopper at Walmart reported March 24 that someone reached into her car and stole her purse as she was getting into her car at 2:15 p.m. The purse contained cash and credit cards.
  • A resident of Malvern Lane in Stony Brook reported March 24 that someone used a knife to puncture the tires of a 2009 Nissan Sentra sometime between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.
  • An unknown male broke the window at Dunkin' Donuts on Route 25A in Stony Brook and fled the scene at 2:30 p.m. on March 29.
  • Damage to a mailbox on Houghton Blvd. in Stony Brook was reported as occurring sometime between March 28 at 11 p.m. and March 29 at 6:30 a.m.
