Crime Report: Snowblower Reported Stolen Before Blizzard

Incident happened Feb. 8 at Walmart.

Suffolk County police are investigating the theft of a snowblower from the garden department at Walmart in East Setauket on Feb. 8 at 1:30 p.m. The incident, which took place prior to the brunt of the blizzard that afternoon, is being investigated as an incident of fourth-degree grand larceny.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Norman Torgersen IV, 41, of Patchogue, was arrested Feb. 12 in East Setauket on three charges of petty larceny, each a misdemeanor. Police say Torgersen sold various stolen items at a business located on Sheep Pasture Road in East Setauket. According to police reports, the stolen items included a metal grading box, a power washer, a generator, and a metal rake.

Hantz Fevry, 23, of Setauket, was arrested Feb. 15 in Setauket and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Fevry was intoxicated when they stopped him for failing to stay in his lane on southbound Nicolls Road just south of Route 25A at 1:30 a.m.

John Valinoti, 27, of Commack, was arrested Feb. 15 in Setauket and charged with second-degree criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor. Police said Valinoti lied about his identity when they pulled him over for a traffic violation at 6:40 p.m. on Old Town Road.
