Come on! Pay attention, do the speed limit and STOP looking at your phone and this won't happen.

It is obvious that we need a guardrail on shore road, it's not the drivers fault. Where is Hahn and Fiore Rosenfeld? Another nanny state project for you both!

the driver has no fault in this ???? you have had enough

Seriously, what is so "Nanny State" about a guard rail on a bad curve, jerk.

Seriously, no guard rail needed. People drive too fast down Shore and talk on their phones. How about we start there? Tons of people walk and run and bike along the road. When are drivers going to pay attention?

People drive very fast on Shore Road and I too am surprised that it doesn't happen more often. It is a very bad turn and there isn't a curb to jump.

I may be a lot of things, but a jerk is not one of them. C'mon people...it was a spoof on the nanny state, after all, we have full time legislators and councilman that just need pet projects to champion in order to justify their full time jobs. We have way too much government intruding in every aspect of our lives. As far as the guardrail, it would sort of take away the beauty of shore road, don't you think? Maybe speed bumps and a few traffic signals on shore road would before appropriate? Whatever happened to PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY?

By the way, Christine, did you know that water is the number 1 cause of drowning in Suffolk County? Everyone reading the Patch should petition our legislature and town council to ban water to prevent drowning. If they won't ban it due to special interests, at least they can dehydrate it at taxpayer expense.

Over the past several years, we as residents of Shore Road have witnessed several cars go over once what was a seawall. Several of those accidents occured not as a result of poor driving, but as a result of a complete deterioration of the road due to a lack of maintaining this road and buffer from the harbor. We need it fixed NOW. MER

Sorry if you're driving at the speed that you should be and eyes are on the road this doesn't happen.

The seawall needs fixing.....and the drivers need to slow down and watch for the pedestrians, bikes, children, and dogs who frequent this scenic road. Please, no guardrail! Let the errant cars careen into the water; better than debris on the road, and no one has drowned there yet.
