It has been a while since we checked in at , so on Wednesday, we headed over to the Thai eatery in Stony Brook. Broken air conditioning aside, the food was hot in the good kind of ways.
The Dish: Basil Chicken ($7) with Crab Roll appetizer ($6)
What's Inside: The crab roll consists of chicken, shrimp and crabmeat wrapped together in a tofu skin, fried to a crisp, and served with plum sauce. The basil chicken comes with scallions, peppers, and onions in a spicy basil sauce with peanuts and Thai spices, served with rice.
Eat this Because: You are craving a mild crunch and a moderate spice. The preparation of the crab rolls gives them a pleasant crispyness. Each bit of the basil chicken is an intense wave of spice that won't be too overbearing.
Side Dish: The Thai iced tea ($2) is always refreshing on a hot day.
