Village People: See Who's Making Headlines in Three Village

Dr. Henry Woo of Old Field has been elected to a three-year term on the American Heart Association’s Long Island Regional Board of Directors. Woo is a neurosurgeon who serves as Director of the Cerebrovascular Center at Stony Brook University Hospital as well as a professor of neurosurgery and radiology at Stony Brook University's School of Medicine.

The JTM Foundation, which seeks philanthropic support for Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson, has tapped Nancy Burner of Setauket as a board member . Burner is the founder of the law firm Nancy Burner & Associates in East Setauket.

Dr. Hesham M. Atwa of East Setauket has been named a "compassionate doctor honoree" by PatientsChoice.org. Atwa, who works at Mather Hospital, has been practicing general surgery since 1993.
