Local Color II- Painting and Works on Paper

Opening Reception, sponsored by Parthenon Framing Enterprises

A two-part exhibition with an impressive array of regional talent, Gallery North’s Local Color is a Long Island summer staple featuring current work by contemporary Long Island artists. Local Color I, running from June 7th—June 28th consisted of photography and digital media, while Local Color II, opening on July 26th, will highlight painting and works on paper. Through these distinct and compelling media, Local Color explores the themes and textures of Long Island in a celebration of its people and places.

Together, these multimedia artists showcase the natural beauty of Long Island’s sea and skyscapes, woods, and fields, as well as the bustle and interplay of its roads and residents.  Local Colorhighlights the unique perspectives that photography and painting can offer as each artist investigates a point of view and the living environment.
