On May 21, voters in Three Village will head to the polls to vote “yes” or “no” on a $184.53 million budget proposal. The proposal carries a tax levy increase of 4.05 percent; despite being more than 2 percent, it is still within the state’s tax cap law due to exclusions for skyrocketing pension costs and other factors, so it will need a simple majority to pass. Homeowners will see an average tax increase of approximately $396 under that budget proposal. After months of budget deliberations, those are the basic tenets of the proposed 2013-14 school budget.
