Week in Review: School Calendar Revised, Strongwater Resigns

Perhaps the biggest news of the week came Friday, when Dr. Steven Strongwater, CEO of Stony Brook University Medical Center, Nov. 15. Long Island State Veterans Home executive director Fred Sganga will step into an interim CEO role while a national search is conducted for Strongwater's successor.

On Tuesday night, the Three Village board of education voted to adopt a following the delayed opening of the schools in the wake of Tropical Storm Irene. Students will now report to school on Nov. 8, Election Day, instead of having a day off.
