Question of the Day: Is College Worth It?

College is becoming increasingly expensive, but is the price worth paying?

On the front page of CNN.com, a number of headlines jump off the screen. One, an opinion piece by a 19-year-old from California, is entitled "College is a waste of time."

Paying for college has become increasingly difficult for millions of parents across the country. According to Forbes, Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville ranks as the most expensive institution in the nation, with its tuition coming in at a cool $57,556 per year. The next two on the list, Bard and Columbia, are also in New York State.

Still, it's been reported widely that college graduates make more money over the course of their lives than high school graduates. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, those with a bachelor's degree earn nearly a million dollars more than those without them.
