From Kings Park Patch: Kings Park Local in Hollywood Flick. Steve Gagliano, a Kings Park resident and owner of Tormented Souls Tattoo in East Northport, plays an Albanian gangster in the new action-thriller "Dead Man Down" starring Colin Farrell, Noomi Rapace, and Terrence Howard. The film, released March 8, is about a thug (Farrell) with a secret past who goes head to head with a woman (Rapace) seeking revenge for an attack.

From Miller Place-Rocky Point Patch: Debate Persists on Contentious Miller Place Kindergarten Proposal. Full-Day kindergarten continued to be the topic of contention at Wednesday’s second budget workshop as the district pitched the proposal again while now including a four-year projection. Clearly the most controversial topic after the first workshop, the program would come at no cost to district the first year and little cost in 2014-‘15 thanks to Kindergarten Conversion State Aid that would be received.

From Port Jefferson Patch: Revenue Questions Loom Over Upcoming Village Budget. As Port Jefferson Village officials work on crafting a budget for the upcoming fiscal year, Treasurer Don Pearce reported on Monday night that while increases in spending shouldn't be too much of a problem, the revenue side of the equation could prove to be quite a challenge.

From Smithtown Patch: Residents Rally Against Outdoor Dining at Rockwell's Bar and Grill. The new owners of Rockwell's Bar and Grill are facing resistance from local residents in their attempt to legalize an outdoor dining space before warm weather arrives. Peter Trink, a new co-owner of Rockwell's Bar and Grill in Smithtown, went before the Smithtown Board of Zoning Appeals on Tuesday night in efforts to legalize an outdoor dining area with a special exception permit. Trink said he was unaware Rockwell's outdoor dining are did not have proper town permits when he took over the business. However, it plays a crucial role in his business's success.
