June 22: Rainy Day Fun in Three Village

Local libraries and museums are good options when the weather's less than cooperative.

Patch's WeatherBug forecast, which pulls info from the weather station at Gelinas Junior High, calls for rain pretty much all day. We've got a few suggestions – for both kids and grownups – for what to do on a rainy day in Three Village.

1. Need something to do on a rainy day? The Emma S. Clark Memorial Library may be one answer. Registration for summer programs is ongoing, and can be in many cases.

2. Museums are another staple for a rainy day activity with the kids. And you don't have to go all the way to New York City for the chance to visit a natural history museum. The Museum of Long Island Natural Sciences at Stony Brook University is open every weekday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., except for major holidays, and best of all, admission is free.

3. Select bottles and glasses of wine are half price on Wednesdays at , a perfect fit for wine lovers. If you'd prefer to snuggle up and enjoy one at home, perhaps check out the that recently opened at the Stony Brook Village Center.
