#86 – Eat Lunch Outdoors at a Local Park or Beach

We can think of a few great places to relax on your lunch hour.

The warmer weather makes it easier to enjoy a few more outdoor activities in the springtime than in the winter – things like , enjoying sports like or , walking , and more than just a few of the other 85 things we're going to mention in this series.

But not everything on our list of "100 Things to Do in Three Village" needs an entire afternoon set aside or a complex amount of planning around the kids. For instance, taking an outdoor lunch break at a local park or beach.

This past Saturday, for instance, Jan Yoshioka of Levittown took her first-ever sandwich and iced tea from Se-Port Deli down the road a little ways to the spot on Shore Road in East Setauket where kayakers and canoers often launch their boats into Setauket Harbor.

"Oh, this is so nice. So pretty," she said.

There was probably more to that thought, but she was busy eating her lunch and enjoying the sunshine and gentle breeze over the water.

That's not the only spot in Three Village with a relaxing spot to sit. You'll find benches at the East Setauket Pond Park and a perfect little ledge by the pond at Avalon Park, although you'll probably have to contend with a few geese. There's always Frank Melville Memorial Park or West Meadow Beach. But don't forget to dispose of your trash responsibly.
