#80 – Travel the Greenway Trail

Great for walking, jogging, biking, and enjoying nature.

In Three Village, the Greenway Trail sits near the top of the list when it comes to places for both outdoor exercise and ways to enjoy nature.

The 1.2-mile trail is a paved pathway which starts on Hallock Road near the Blockbuster video on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station and crosses a few busy streets in East Setauket until it ends at Gnarled Hollow Road, where parking is available near the LIRR overpass. The organization Friends of the Greenway exists to help maintain the trail and advocate for its future, and is still seeking members.

Motorized vehicles are not permitted on the Greenway Trail, encouraging a safe way to walk, run, roller blade, or ride a bicycle. The only exception is motorized wheelchairs. Pets are allowed, but their owners must clean up after them.
