5 Things to Do this Week

A look at what lies ahead in the Three Village community.

As we head into the first week of July – if you can get past the fact that 2012 is halfway over already – here are a few things to keep in mind.

1. The Three Village Board of Education will hold its annual organizational meeting on Monday night, open to the public at 8 p.m. at the .

2. Have you got your Town of Brookhaven beach parking permit sticker yet? You'll need to pick one up before you can park at the beach or marina on your days off this week. They're available at Town Hall, the West Meadow Beach booth, and several other locations detailed on the PDF attached to this article.

3. On Wednesday, celebrate Independence Day by heading to nearby North Shore Heritage Park in Mt. Sinai to see the Parade of American Flags.

4. On Thursday, get a breath of fresh air with a free at the Bates House at at 10 a.m.

5. Check out the lineup of the upcoming Stony Brook Film Festival, and buy passes to the films that interest you before they're sold out. Opening night is July 19.
