10 Ways to Have Holiday Fun this Season in Three Village

There's no shortage of holiday spirit in this community.

The holiday season is in full swing in Three Village, where you'll find a number of special holiday events in addition to the traditional religious celebrations taking place around town.

1. Tickets to the Three Village Historical Society's annual are on sale to the public for the tour, which takes place Dec. 3 and 4. Friday is nearly sold out, according to the society, but Saturday tickets are still available in plenty. You can purchase tickets online here or stop by the Historical Society between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. or 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. to purchase tickets Tuesday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

2. Attend the Ward Melville Heritage Organization's annual on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m. at the Stony Brook Village Center.

3. Line up to watch – or sign up to march in – the annual electric light holiday parade, set for Dec. 11 at 5 p.m., sponsored by the Three Village Chamber of Commerce.

4. On Dec. 7, head to the Pritchard Gymnasium at Stony Brook University for before the men's basketball game. Get your picture taken with Santa, enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, and more.

5. Pick up a Christmas tree at a local farmstand like Pantaleon's or Ann Marie's to decorate to your heart's content.

6. Check out the "Living Nativity" from Dec. 9 to 11 at Stony Brook Christian Assembly.

7. The Setauket Fire Department will be sponsoring its annual Santa Run through the neighborhoods of Three Village on Dec. 17.

8. The Ward Melville Heritage Organization is also sponsoring a show called "Home for the Holidays with Bob Hope" at various dates and times. Check the for more information.

9. Stony Brook Summer Camps is sponsoring a on Dec. 10. For $30, you'll get a gingerbread house and all the trimmings to decorate with, plus refreshments, giveaways, and more.

10. On Dec. 18, celebrate Chanukah with Temple Isaiah. The temple is hosting a Zimriah, or song festival, at 10 a.m., followed by the annual Bernie Friend Latke Bash. You can also celebrate the Winter Solstice with a 10:30 a.m. service at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at Stony Brook.
