Christian Avenue: The road that time forgot

I will tell you this. I sure wouldn't want to be at the airport right now waiting on a ride from the Superintendent Losquandro. January, February, March, April, May…

Fasten your seat belts. It's still a bumpy ride.

So here it is, July 1, 2013, practically three months to the day that Brookhaven’s Highway Superintendent Dan Losquadro was quoted in the Three Village Patch saying that the residents of the Three Village won't have to wait much longer before Christian Avenue is repaved.

"Given the condition of the road I can certainly sympathize with the residents," he said in a Patch article dated April 2, 2013. "We are going to undertake that project this year. That road is one of my top priorities."

If you haven’t taken Christian Avenue recently, you know we are still waiting. I would like to see the Highway Department’s list of priorities. What in the world could have been higher on the list? We MUST be in the top three!  Governor Chris Christie has rebuilt the Jersey Shore in less time. Is the highway superintendent waiting for warmer weather? I notice they did a quick patch job here and there, but that is very little, very late. My teeth still chatter when I drive on this road.

I figured there must be roads in worse shape than ours, so I did a little search, and sure enough, Srilanka, China, Zimbabwe, Chicago and the Ukraine have some huge freaking potholes, but I am not sure they pay the taxes we do here.

See link here for big freaking potholes:

I have an idea. If you have used this road on a regular basis since last year, let’s all send the Brookhaven Superintendent a bill for a set of new shocks for our cars!
