At one point in time, the Three Village community was home to two Verizon Wireless retail stores. One of them closed in November of 2011 after three years in business, and now, the other – located at 4066 Nesconset Highway in East Setauket – has closed as well after two years of service.
It has left a vacancy of 1,600 square feet zoned for retail use in a busy shopping center that also includes Waldbaum's, Cactus Salon, Chase Bank, Snap Fitness, and other stores. The shopping center is owned by Brixmor Property Group, which also owns the King Kullen shopping center on Route 25A in East Setauket, the HomeGoods shopping center in Port Jefferson Station, and 11 other Long Island properties.
According to Nick Andreatis, regional vice president of leasing at Brixmor, the closing of the Verizon store was part of a major sub-operator closing. "Numerous stores closed at the same time," he wrote in an email to Patch. Anyone interested in leasing the store can call him at (646) 344-8732.
