9 Tips to a Pain-Free Pregnancy

Did you know at Physical Therapy & Beyond we specialize in woman’s health? I created the Pregnancy & Back Pain program in response to my own experience during pregnancy.  It is the basis for our specialization in the treatment of back pain, neck pain, rib pain, sacral dysfunctions, posture dysfunctions, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, and referred symptoms. You will have your own complete and individualized program which incorporates pain relief, range of motion, strengthening, stabilization, balance training, flexibility, and proper lifting and body mechanics. We also provide helpful hints for performing daily activities and finding comfortable sleep positions. The Pregnancy and Back Pain Program was created in order to help you–both during and after your pregnancy.

9 Tips to a Pain-Free Pregnancy

  1. Proper Posture
  2. Proper Body Mechanics
  3. Sit with Lumbar Support
  4. Avoid flexion/bending activities
  5. Change positions frequently
  6. Avoid cramping by stretching calves before bed.
  7. Avoid sleeping with wrists flexed under pillow
  8. Get a pregnancy massage by a specially trained Licensed Massage Therapist
  9. If your pain continues, see a Physical Therapist.
