Le Petit Salon de Musique - classical concert

Le Petit Salon de Musique in East Setauket announces an exciting first performance of the new year on January 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.  This innovative classical music series at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at Stony Brook offers an exceptional piano, cello and violin trio performing works of Claude Debussy and Anton Arensky.  The accomplished classical music trio is led by pianist Doris Anne McMullen, who performs in the New York and Long Island area as a soloist, duo-pianist, lecture-recitalist, chamber musician and accompanist.  She has performed with the Long Island Philharmonic and as concerto soloist with the Suffolk Symphony, Sound Symphony, and West Islip, BAFFA and Stony Brook University orchestras.  Stephanie Iovine serves as principal cellist of the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra, the Hudson Valley Gilbert and Sullivan Society, the St. Martin’s Symphony Orchestra in Amityville as well as the Hampton Chamber Orchestra.  She also plays with a number of chamber orchestra groups on Long Island.  Violinist Wendy Heller Fogel has performed in the first violin section of the Jerusalem Symphony and as a freelancer with the London Festival Ballet Orchestra, Royal Ballet Orchestra, London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, London Mozart Players, Kent Opera, Philomusica, and London Chamber Orchestras.  Since 1991, Wendy has been the concertmaster of the Sound Symphony and she was a founding member of the Peconic Chamber Orchestra.

 

Tickets for this event are $15.00 at the door or $12 online at www.lepetitsalon.org.  Tickets for seniors and students are $10.  Le Petit Salon de Musique is located at 380 Nicolls Rd., East Setauket, NY and is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at Stony Brook (www.UUFSB.org), a non-profit religious organization whose mission includes support for social and economic justice.  All proceeds are used to fund UUFSB and its mission.  ###
