Water Wheel Repaired, Returned to Mill House

The simulated mill house on the pond at Setauket's Frank Melville Memorial Park is whole once again, after repairs made to the water wheel were recently completed.

Patch previously reported that an axle on the wheel broke in 2012, which stopped the wheel from turning. It was removed from the house and set on dry land at another spot in the park while the axle was repaired.

Park trustee Haig Sefarian, owner of East Setauket based Flagpoles Inc., engineered the repair and built the replacement parts pro bono, with assistance from park manager Hap Barnes, assistant Eric Akeber and park trustee Bob Brown as well.
