Things to Do in Three Village: #36 – Walk to Support a Cause

Each year, multiple organizations in Three Village put together benefit walk-a-thons or races in support of their causes. Why not participate in the spirit of community? Get some exercise on a crisp fall morning while raising much-needed funds for local community organizations.

Below are two such events coming up in Three Village. Check back with Three Village Patch throughout the year for more information on fundraiser race/walk events.

• The fourth annual "Soles for All Souls" 5K race/2K walk will take place Oct. 7 starting at 9:30 a.m. at All Souls Episcopal Church in Stony Brook. Proceeds from the race benefit the church and the ministries it supports. The race route travels down Christian Ave. and Hollow Rd. as well as side streets in between. Drivers should watch for road closures; directions to the walk, registration info, and additional information can be found here.
• The 18th annual Walk for Beauty, in support of the needs of breast cancer patients and research for a cure, is set for Oct. 14 in Stony Brook. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 9:30 a.m. The Walk for Beauty will honor Patrick Parent of Legends Hair Designs for his charitable efforts in support of cancer research.
