Shelter Pet of the Week: Meet Tucker

Tucker is a 4-year-old wheaten terrier who loves playing with children and other dogs.

Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue in Port Jefferson Station has a new addition looking to be adopted – a wheaten terrier named Tucker.

Tucker is 4 years old, and was brought to the shelter after his mother could not care for him anymore. He gets along very well with other dogs, as well as children, so he would fit in well with almost any type of family.

Wheaten terriers are unique in that they have a single-layer coat, so people who typically have an allergic reaction to thick-haired dogs are unlikely to react to their fur. They are also known for their playful and energetic attitude, and Tucker is no exception.
